Jan 30,  · Such a powerful album. First time Ani Difranco listener was so moved by the title track 'Not a pretty girl' that I instantly bought the album, and after listening to the album will be buying the whole collection. I love the message her songs have and she is an incredibly talented musician and song writer. Very relatable and her voice is astounding/5(72).

Not a Pretty Girl is the sixth studio album released by singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco on her own record label, Righteous Babe Records. It was released July 18, The album extended the folk singer 's early formula of acoustic guitar and drums.
  8. Kagasho

On her relatively spare sixth album (which features only one other musician, percussionist/vocalist Andy Stochansky, and, on one song, singer Kate Fenner), Ani DiFranco takes on a few expected topics, such as abortion ("Tiptoe"), capital punishment ("Crime for Crime"), and why she isn't on a major label ("The Million You Never Made"). But much of the disc is given over to introspective.
